Founded in Washington, DC in 1990 as a retail bakery, demand by restaurants and hotels for the artisan breads and pastries overwhelmed the retail side of the business. To continue to grow the commercial bakery, a new, single story location was paramount. Mike McCloud found the perfect location in Hyattsville, MD and was able to improve efficiencies with new equipment and a one-story building while reducing operating costs. Mike says, "The ability to include all of the costs in the 504 project financing helped reduce the initial cash outlay which was important to growing the business."
