We are Open for Business!

The 504 program has money to lend! Throughout the 15 months of the credit markets crisis, the 504 product has gone to market without incident! Each debenture sale has run smoothly. In fact, our sale is often oversubscribed! Using the 504 program could help increase the number of loans you are approving and offer that extra measure of safety that your credit group is now looking for. Let us know how we can help!

Save the Date!

Business Finance Group will hold its Annual Meeting and Holiday Open House on December 4th from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm in our offices at 3930 Pender Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, VA 22030. There will be plenty to eat and drink along with the opportunity to see old friends and meet new ones. We hope to see you there!

BFG Lends a Hand in New Orleans

In conjunction with a recent meeting of our trade association in New Orleans, a group of our staff participated in two days of volunteer work for New Orleans residents still struggling to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Six of our staff gave up their weekend to clean up construction debris, install insulation, calk, and paint for low income homeowners in the 9th Ward. The entire group felt strongly that they had made a difference!

Appraisal certifications

Just a reminder that when a 504 project includes renovations or construction that total one third or more of the purchase price, SBA requires that the appraiser provide a certification post-construction stating that the project was completed in accordance with plans and specs. If the requirement for the certification is included in the engagement letter, the appraiser will have a clear understanding of what is required, and will include the costs in his total fees. The appraiser can be expected to charge a small fee for the certification if it was not included in his original proposal.
